Daragh Maher
I’ve been involved in podcasting for a decade with various sports shows. My interest in American Football started in Superbowl 48 when the Seahawks beat the Broncos and I was hooked from there. It was a few year before I started looking to see if there were any local clubs near me. In 2018 I went to my first American football practice and have not looked back since. Currently playing with the West Dublin Rhinos and continuing to expand my knowledge of the game.

Rian Rock-Molloy
I started playing aged 19 for the North Dublin Pirates In their inaugural season in 2014. I initially started as a run blocking Tight End who migrated to QB in my rookie season and have not looked back since. I spent my entire career with the Pirates, with the exception of a single season in the Netherlands competing for the Enschede Broncos in the AFBN 1 in 2019. I returned to the Pirates for a couple of tumultuous post Covid seasons, eventually suffering from an injury in the 2023 season which put a premature end to my playing career.

Fionn Molloy
Fionn has had a 10 year career in AFI. Playing the majority for the North Dublin Pirates. A founding player of the Pirates he’s played most positions on offence and defence, finally settling at safety for the majority of his career. His final year he played for the South Dublin Panthers starting at safety in their 2024 season.

I’ve always had an interest in American football, I have family in the Bay Area & lived in LA for 3 years when I was a child so always had teams merch without really understanding what it was all about. My obsession with sport though started when I got Madden 08 out of a Gamestop bargain bin and I was hooked, I learned everything from that game, team names, player names, Offensive/Defensive schemes, etc. When I went to college in Maynooth I got involved in the Flag football team they had there and once I graduated and returned to Dundalk I learned about the Mavericks and immediately joined, I have been a Maverick for almost a decade now and have also been club president for a spell.

I started playing football in 2017 for the North Dublin Pirates. I played linebacker for 3 years there until I had to give it up due to injuries.
I’ve been a Seahawks fan since the 05/06 superbowl season. I loved watching Shaun Alexander play that MVP year although I could rarely find a full game to watch at the time here in Ireland.
UCP in the beginning
UCP started in 2021 when 3 team mates from the same team decided to set up a show giving an Irish players point of view. Daragh, Fionn & Jake produced a show a week talking about the latest NFL news. We have been fortunate enough to welcome on some legends of the game including Wade Phillips, Ron Rivera & Lofa Tatupu.
We not only discuss the NFL but also cover the local game, The American Football Ireland (AFI) league. Discussing the latest storylines, fixtures & results featuring players and coaches from all 18 team on the island of Ireland.
